Self-Care Season: Tips to a healthy Mind, Body and Soul

In the midst of spoiling our loved ones over the holidays, it's important we take a moment to love, appreciate and care for ourselves.

Use the tips below as quick, simple, effective and thoughtful ways to bring you back to our center.

Be centered.

Be focused.

Be Present.

Find your inner peace.

Love yourself. Always.

MIND

Tea please; Start your day with a warm cup of tea, or your favorite coffee blend. Sit back, take in the morning fog and feel restful and stress-free.

Scratch off a lurker on your to-do list; something you've been needing to do for a while and haven't gotten to.

Be selfish; do something today that makes YOU happy

Unfriend; delete negative peers from social media.

Headspace; Perform 3 minutes of guided meditation. Use "headspace" to guide you through the basics of meditating.

BODY

Tummy Breaths; focus throughout the day on deep, stomach breathing. Let the breaths puff out your stomach and chest.

Most important meal; Fuel yourself with whole, natural foods for breakfast. Smoothies, veggie omelettes, avocado toast.

Go for a walk; Bring your dog, your kids or your favorite podcast and explore the outdoors. Breathe in the fresh air, feel the ground holding you up beneath your feet and get moving.

Inhale; Buy a candle in your favorite scent or a soothing scent such as: Lavender, Eucalyptus, Vanilla.

Consciously do more: Focus on drinking an extra glass of water, or eating an extra portions of vegetables are each meal.

SOUL

Put your phone away; Be focused, be present and be mindful of your surroundings. Respect those around you and give them your full attention.

Be Grateful: Every morning, write 2 things you are grateful for.

Help Someone: Open a door, carry a bag, offer help to a friend, neighbor or a stranger.

Give positive feedback; tell 3 people why you appreciate them

Date yourself; cook yourself a delicious meal, go to the movies alone or spoil yourself with a spa day (at Zen Salon and Spa!)
